Job Title: Resilient Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support - SEMH) Location: Catterick Garrison Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Contract Type: Temporary Start Date: September 2025 Empowering Learning are working with a primary school in the Catterick Garrison area and are seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role will be to support the child on a long term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life by providing consistent, nurturing, and structured support throughout the school day. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Proven experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a primary school setting. A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to behaviour management. Strong understanding of strategies and interventions to support SEMH pupils. Ability to work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A resilient and positive mindset, even in challenging situations. Your Role Will Include: Providing 1:1 support in and out of the classroom.
