Key responsibilities include:
* Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for audio processing and control systems.
* Contribute to schematic capture, PCB design, and prototype assembly.
* Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for real-time DSP, network, and control applications.
* Work with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded systems with software and hardware platforms.
* Support the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through to production and field deployment.
* Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization.
* Liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) requirements are met.
* Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to audio, embedded systems, and networking
Skills and experience required:
* Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Strong experience in embedded systems design using C/C++.
* Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g. Altium, KiCad).
* Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontroller architectures.
* Embedded Linux experience.
* Understanding of digital and analog audio circuit design.
* Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet and USB.
* Proficient in debugging hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and other lab tools.
* Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small, multidisciplinary team.
Desirable skills:
* Experience with real-time audio DSP or audio networking (e.g. Dante, AVB, AES67).
* Knowledge of FPGA design (e.g. Verilog/VHDL).
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for production.
* 68000 Assembly language experience.
* Passion for audio, music technology, or live sound applications.
Benefits: Life Assurance, Income Protection, Pension, Bike2work scheme, 25 days holiday (increasing with service), Medical Cash Plan and Private Healthcare options, substantial staff discount on company products.
