We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, talented and inspiring Music Teacher to join a high-achieving and forward-thinking secondary school in Oxford. This is a full-time, permanent position starting January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate), with a TLR available for applicants who can offer leadership, ensemble direction, curriculum development or whole-school musical coordination.

About the Role
As the school’s Music Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
• Teaching Music across KS3–KS4, with KS5 available for suitable candidates
• Planning and delivering ambitious, engaging and creative lessons
• Leading or supporting ensembles, choirs, bands or orchestral groups
• Preparing students for performances, exams and practical assessments
• Contributing to concert programmes, musicals and community events
• Playing an active role in curriculum development and department strategy
• Taking on additional responsibilities aligned with the TLR, if awarded (e.g., leading performing arts enrichment, coordinating peripatetic staff or overseeing extended curriculum activities)
Experience and Qualifications
• Degree in Music or a related discipline
• PGCE with QTS
• Strong performance, composition or ensemble direction background
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to inspire students and contribute to the school’s wider arts culture
• Experience in leading musical groups or projects desirable (TLR consideration)
Salary
Paid to scale – MPS/UPS with potential TLR (depending on experience and responsibilities).
