R&D Engineering Manager / Director - Fire Safety

You will lead a distributed engineering function, shaping future-ready products while ensuring alignment with market needs, regulatory frameworks, and commercial priorities.
Your Impact
In this role, you will:
* Lead and develop an R&D engineering team, including product architects and technical specialists
* Define and implement technology roadmaps aligned with product and business strategy
* Collaborate closely with product management, commercial, and business development teams to ensure market relevance
* Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement, including cost optimisation initiatives and product enhancements
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and cybersecurity requirements
* Support resource planning and prioritisation across multiple engineering projects
* Foster a strong collaborative and performance-driven culture across international teams
Your Profile
We are looking for a leader who combines technical depth with strategic thinking and people leadership:
* Degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
* Around 5-10+ years of experience in engineering, R&D, or product development.
* Proven experience in leading engineering teams (direct or matrix)
* Strong understanding of product development processes and lifecycle management
* Ability to work across cross-functional and international teams
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage complexity
* A collaborative mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
