As Deputy Manager, you will work in collaboration with the Store Manager to maximise profit, lead the team, deliver seamless operations, and ensure the success of our store.
Key responsibilities include:
* Review sales, operations, and digital performance weekly to identify priorities and drive improvements.
* Focus on delivering great availability and cost controls through excellent processes.
* Create a culture of 'sell a £, save a £' to maximise store sales and profit.
* Deliver on all KPIs.
* Support the Store Manager with Talking Shop initiatives and work well with representatives.
* Drive team engagement through effective communication, appreciation, and respect.
* Foster an inclusive culture where everyone can excel at work.
* Upskill the team using available resources, development options, and on-the-job coaching.
* Manage performance through continuous conversations and performance processes.
Doing the right processes and doing them right:
* Model proactive service in-store and at the doorstep.
* Ensure cash handling and security policies are fully implemented.
* Deliver the best digital service by implementing all One Best Way processes.
* Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety policies to minimise risks.
Leadership:
* Lead by example to motivate the team and provide excellent customer service.
* Be approachable and respectful to customers and colleagues.
* Work with enthusiasm and reduce waste.
* Take responsibility for store operations, colleagues, and customers in the absence of the Store Manager.
* Communicate effectively through regular conversations and active listening.
* Prioritise tasks and plan ahead.
* Set the pace of the team by being hands-on.
* Make sound decisions to solve problems.
* Coach team members to improve performance.
* Delegate tasks appropriately.
* Motivate the team to maintain operational standards.
