About us

Dyson’s Senior Operations Manager directs and manages the day-to-day activities of an organisation’s operations. Implements operations procedures and initiatives. Being a Senior Operations Manager, he/she evaluates and enhances current operational systems. Monitors performance against operational goals and develops reporting and auditing processes used to analyse operational effectiveness. Additionally, the Senior Operations Manager coordinates operations with other key functions within the organisation.

About the role

The role reports to the Head of Operations and provides inputs to strategic decisions that effects the functional area of responsibility.

1. Oversee the business operations and ensuring all operational procedures adhere to the Dyson policies and standards.

2. Support in the development of Operational KPIs and drive the deliverable with each Operations Managers with the team

3. Act as the key contact person for Contract Manufactures on Operational deliverables and escalation management.

4. TEAM skill evaluation and development.

5. Leads by motivating the team and devising strategies to improve the workflow and operational targets within the deadline.

6. Support effective implementation of new first tier contract manufacturers and second tier sub-contractor.

7. Proactively act and drive to identify and mitigate risk of the implementation of new products and technologies transfer into manufacturing environment.

8. Drive CSR program.

9. Drive Cost, Quality and Delivery improvement programs.

10. Develop process and solutions improving Operational project management efficiencies.

11. Coordinate standard operating procedures across Contract manufacturers and product category.

Efficiency Program:

12. Waste reduction.

13. Engineering Change Management.

14. Process improvements.

Key Manufacturing Components:

15. Deep understanding of Operational Project Management at Dyson

16. Provide Leadership, coordination of assigned high complexity projects.

17. Stakeholder management within his/her project and across the Operations team.

18. Coordination of cross-functional teams, internally and externally.

Manufacturing Efficiencies:

19. Drive teams towards Implementation of key efficiency program that reduce cost and improve quality.

20. Drive teams towards Implementation of Process Engineering changes to drive increased adherences to specifications.

Cost Management:

21. Leverage on Dyson product experiences and lean manufacturing to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across the category.

22. Self-motivated, independent, result-driven

23. Ability to deliver under pressure and in tight timelines.

About you

24. Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related fields.

25. At least 5 years of working experience in an electronics-manufacturing environment.

26. Minimum 5 years+ experience in a leadership role.

27. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

28. Excellent communication skills with good command of written & spoken English

29. Team player with a strong level of commitment to project deliverables.

30. Be a trusted advisor.

Desirable:

31. Six Sigma Training

32. Lean Manufacturing Principles- Understanding the principles of lean and how to apply to a manufacturing organisation.

33. Cost control behaviours/business acumen

34. Knowledge of plastic injection mould tooling and/or line jigs/fixture/testing equipment validation & qualification.

35. Ability to create a concise and clear presentation in PowerPoint.
