Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth and strengthen market presence across the North of England. The successful individual will promote a range of vacuum automation technologies, develop and manage customer relationships, and provide technical expertise to support client applications. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet growth targets within the region. Identify and generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship-building. Provide technical consultation and product guidance to customers, ensuring correct application and optimal performance. Collaborate closely with internal teams—including engineering and customer service—to deliver complete customer solutions. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and sales activities through CRM systems. Represent the business at trade shows, industry events, and product demonstrations to support brand presence. Candidate Profile Education: Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience: 0–10 years in technical sales, applications engineering, or business development within industrial automation or a related field. Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems; knowledge of vacuum technology is beneficial but not essential. Attributes: Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and a results-driven approach. Location: Based within 100 miles of Reading, with flexibility to travel across the South of England.
