We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work at the Ashford Common - TW15 1RU Water production site.
As a successful candidate, you will use your mechanical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision, allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefits of our customers.

What you'll be doing as a Mechanical Technician
* Working on various pumps, involved in water transfer within water treatment works and transmission of water throughout the network, as well as smaller chemical dosing pumps.
* Investigating mechanical plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions for our customers.
* Investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
* Providing technical advice to the wider team, referencing up-to-date technical knowledge, and providing training or support for technical trainees if required.
* Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment.
Qualifications and Experience
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering.
* A problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions, or escalating if required.
* An excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
* Resilient, adaptable to the pressures of work and the constantly changing environment.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision, under own initiative, to design to standards.
* Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
* Team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
* Full UK driving licence.

Working Pattern
38 hours per week, Monday-Friday. 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase the earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
