SEMH Teacher - West Cornwall
Location: West Cornwall (including areas such as Penzance, Camborne, and Helston)Position Type: Full-time (Part-time considered)Start Date: September 2025 or ASAPSalary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
Are you a committed and compassionate teacher with experience supporting young people facing barriers to education? We are currently working with a number of specialist and alternative provision settings in West Cornwall seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teacher to join their teams.
You will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality, accessible curriculum to students with a wide range of needs, helping to re-engage them with education in a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH needs
* Foster a positive, structured classroom environment built on trust and consistency
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and external professionals
* Track and report progress, adapting teaching to individual learning plans
* Promote emotional literacy and resilience alongside academic development
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
* Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (in mainstream, AP, or SEN settings)
* Strong behaviour management and trauma-informed practice
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learners
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
