The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer with a passion for district heating and communal energy systems. You’ll lead the design, delivery, and optimisation of heat networks, from energy centres to secondary connections, while mentoring engineers and shaping the future direction of the mechanical discipline.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead multidisciplinary projects focused on district heating and low-carbon energy systems.
* Oversee technical delivery, budgets, and client objectives from concept to completion.
* Manage and mentor a growing mechanical engineering team.
* Conduct feasibility studies, design reviews, and ensure compliance with CIBSE CP1 and industry best practice.
* Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes.
* Support business development, proposals, and client engagement.
About You
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* 10+ years in mechanical building services and heat network design and delivery.
* Proven experience with energy centres, secondary networks, and customer connections.
* Strong understanding of CIBSE CP1 and relevant UK regulations.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
