Our client is looking for a experienced engineer to join their business in Peterborough as a Proposal Engineer
The Proposal Engineer role is to support the demands of the growing business providing process solutions to organisations throughout the UK.
Reporting to the Sales Office Manager the proposal engineer will use industry experience and knowledge to prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for the design, manufacture, installation, and management of process equipment. You will gather necessary information to prepared and send proposals to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will maintain existing client contracts and actively seek out new clients and estimating opportunities.
Key Responsibility for Proposal Engineer role:
1. Prepare technical proposals and bids in accordance with Sales and Engineering specifications.
2. Conduct initial discussions and specification reviews to understand the project requirements.
3. Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to establish the costs and key design parameters for selected equipment.
4. Maintain a customer focused approach and build strong customer relationships.
5. Produce comprehensive proposal documents in Word format, incorporating images and tables.
6. Work closely with suppliers to ensure accurate and up-to-date equipment pricing.
7. Maintain relevant documents and enquiry/proposals tracker document.
8. Formulate detailed costing sheets for customers in excel format.
9. Attended fortnightly Sales review meetings to discuss potential sales/projects.
10. Follow up on Proposal with customers and record/report feedback.
You ideally will have a degree or HNC in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
You must have proven experience within a technical sales and process engineering role.
