Responsibilities
* Lead the College’s Management Information Services (MIS) by creating, maintaining and developing systems and processes to meet the internal and external reporting requirements of the College and to provide advice, support and guidance on college systems and processes for student data and funding to maximise quality outcomes, funding generation, growth opportunities and ensure compliance with funders and regulators.
* Provide leadership and management of the College's forecasting/planning functions associated with the College's student numbers.
* Provide leadership, advice and guidance on all funding related issues to managers and staff, to support strategic, operational and curriculum planning decision making.
* Manage the student records system to maintain accurate and timely information on student enrolment, attendance, retention and achievements as well as funding and fees generated from each student.
* Responsibility for ensuring that the College's internal data controls are robust, produce accurate and timely data, and meet internal and external requirements for funders, regulators and auditors. To ensure that the reporting requirements of the College are met in accordance with strategic and operational priorities.
Key Tasks / responsibilities
* To lead the College MIS, Funding, Admission & Enrolment team function by creating, maintaining and developing systems and processes including internal controls to meet the internal and external reporting requirements of the College to ensure effective planning and decision making across the organisation.
* Developing effective systems and processes to address information needs in a changing technological and funding environment. Ensuring that systems and processes are adapted to address the reporting and monitoring requirements of non-recurring, employer responsive and new sources of funding.
* Establishing, effectively communicating and implementing procedures including internal controls for ensuring the quality, integrity, maintenance and completeness of College information databases and ensuring access to that data.
* To ensure the accurate, regular, trusted and timely production of college information for the Senior Leadership Team, College Leadership Team, managers and staff, including reports on performance against funding and student number targets, enrolment, retention, achievement and attendance.
* To ensure high quality, timely and accurate data returns to the Department for Education (DfE), West of England Authority (WECA) and other funding providers and partners.
* Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the DfE, WECA and other funding body methodologies as appropriate, to take a lead role in ensuring that other College managers are advised of key changes or new developments.
* To be responsible for the accurate interpretation, implementation and compliance with all regulations and guidance relating to funding.
* Developing existing systems and reports to respond to management policy direction and recommendations from user and strategy groups.
* Take a lead role in curriculum business planning, working with and supporting the Curriculum Teams and managers to ensure that the curriculum plan allows the College to meet its funding and student number targets to achieve financial and budgetary objectives.
* To include management of the business planning timetable and deadlines, management of the DCP tool ensure the best quality business plan information is gathered.
* To work with curriculum managers to formulate plans and assess the viability of courses, to optimise curriculum delivery.
* Lead role in any internal and external funding audits, liaising with auditors, providing data and ensuring deadlines are met. This includes being responsible for implementing audit actions relating to MIS/funding/admissions and enrolment process.
