An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work within our multidisciplinary team at Huntlyburn Acute Inpatient Unit in the beautiful Scottish Borders.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our friendly multi-disciplinary team who are forward thinking and want the best care for people experiencing acute mental illness. You will manage a caseload of complex cases using evidence based patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in order to encourage meaningful occupations. Your caseload will be diverse and will include people in the age range of 18 to 69 years of age.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical expertise, leadership and supervision of support staff.
* Demonstrate and promote the trust’s values and leadership behaviours.
* Engage in regular supervision, leadership development, CPD and student placements.
* Work autonomously while being aligned with the multidisciplinary team on the ward and the wider Occupational Therapy Service within mental health, offering connection, support and professional development.
* Manage a caseload of complex cases using evidence-based, patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* Contribute to a safe and effective inpatient/ward environment within Huntlyburn Acute Inpatient Unit.

* Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist
* Base: Huntlyburn Ward, Melrose
* 22.5 hours per week
* Permanent contract
Requirements and qualifications
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with appropriate registration and eligibility to practise.
* Full driving licence and access to a car.
* Evidence of professional development and willingness to engage in CPD and supervision.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical leadership.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
