Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care – Band 6
Take a leadership role in the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, developing skills and education in clinical assessment and management of cancer and non‑cancer patients within the acute setting.
Main duties of the job
* Work as an autonomous practitioner undertaking specialist assessment of palliative care patients within the acute setting.
* Develop management plans regarding appropriate symptom management or support that can be offered.
* Evaluate care and treatment outcomes.
* Provide clinical advice to all members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, carers and other agencies.
* Take part in a CNS rolling rota to cover the service over weekends and bank holidays.
* Contribute to the education, research and service evaluation agenda within the palliative care service.
Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

* Degree.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD.
* Independent prescribing.
* Teaching qualification.
Experience
* Experience in relevant speciality.
* Experience of managing own caseload in relevant speciality.
