Head of Project Delivery

We’re looking for a strategic and hands‑on Head of Delivery to lead our project delivery function, ensuring our client work runs seamlessly, profitably, and to the highest standard. You’ll bring structure, foresight, and leadership to our delivery processes, supporting Project Managers and cross‑functional teams to execute with clarity and confidence.
As a member of the leadership team, you’ll own delivery performance, resourcing, and reporting, while fostering collaboration across design, development, marketing, and client services. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects and retainers run efficiently, clients are delighted, and the delivery team continues to grow in capability and confidence.
Who You Are
Experience and Skills
* Proven experience leading project or delivery teams within an agency or eCommerce environment.
* Strong background in project management, client services, and commercial performance (margins, profitability, and resourcing).
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a keen eye for process improvement.
* Confident managing multiple complex projects, teams, and stakeholders.
* Skilled in delivery systems and tools (e.g. Monday.com, Harvest, Google Workspace).
* Strong understanding of Shopify and eCommerce (preferred).
* Commercially minded with an ability to balance client value, delivery quality, and business efficiency.
* Excellent communication and mentoring skills; able to coach PMs and lead through influence.
* Data‑driven approach with the ability to translate insights into actions that improve delivery outcomes.
* Comfortable in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with changing priorities.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
* Lead the delivery department, setting standards for project excellence and client satisfaction.
* Build and manage a high‑performing project management team, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development.
* Drive visibility and accountability across delivery; including project health, risk tracking, and team capacity reporting.
* Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Leadership to align delivery with business goals and resourcing needs.
* Own key delivery KPIs: project margin, delivery efficiency, client satisfaction (NPS), and retainer profitability.
* Champion cross‑department collaboration and ensure consistent communication between teams.
Operational Management
* Oversee all active projects and retainers; ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and to scope.
* Lead capacity and scheduling planning across the agency.
* Work with the Operations Director to introduce and refine delivery processes, templates, and SOPs to improve efficiency and consistency.
* Ensure QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) are held regularly and deliver measurable strategic value.
* Support PMs with forecasting, risk management, and margin tracking.
* Implement delivery reporting dashboards and ensure clear visibility for SLT.
Commercial and Client Success
* Monitor and optimise profitability across all delivery engagements.
* Partner with Sales to convert projects into long‑term retainers.
* Support client relationship building through strong delivery performance and proactive communication.
* Help identify upsell opportunities and contribute to revenue growth through efficient delivery.
* Ensure delivery outputs translate into strong case studies and client success stories.
