Facilities Manager – North Lanarkshire Schools PFI Contract
Location: Bellshill, ML4 3NJ – North Lanarkshire Schools PFI contract.
Employment type: Full‑time, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead day‑to‑day FM operations across multiple school sites under the PFI framework.
* Ensure services meet contract requirements, KPIs, SLAs, and output specifications.
* Manage both hard services (M&E, statutory maintenance, fabric) and soft services (cleaning, catering, security, grounds).
* Act as key liaison between FM providers, client teams, SPV, and school leadership.
* Proactively manage contract performance, financial controls, and risk mitigation.
* Champion health & safety compliance, safeguarding, and environmental sustainability.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and leverage digital CAFM systems.
* Lead, develop, and inspire the FM team to achieve high standards.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within PFI/PPP or complex contractual environments.
* Good understanding of building maintenance, M&E systems, and statutory compliance.
* Extensive knowledge of PFI/PPP contract mechanisms, payment mechanisms, KPIs, and service credits.
* Demonstrable experience in managing subcontractors and in‑house FM teams.
* Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills, prioritisation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage with senior stakeholders and frontline staff.
* Working knowledge of CAFM systems and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to lead by example, promote safety culture, drive continuous improvement.
* Must obtain and maintain Disclosure Scotland to PVG Level.
Desirable Qualifications
* Formal FM or related qualifications (e.g. IWFM/BIFM, HNC/HND in Building Services, IOSH, NEBOSH).
* Experience managing multi‑site contracts.
* Experience within an educational setting and safeguarding requirements.
* Experience in lifecycle planning and capital replacement programmes.
* Project management experience or qualification.
* Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, net‑zero initiatives.
* Experience with CAFM platforms (Maximo, Concept, Planon).
* Experience working within an SPV/client interface structure.
