Morson Talent is pleased to offer an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Site Piping Engineer to join our client's established team. The work involves a major energy infrastructure project supporting the UK's net-zero targets. The project is entering the bulk installation and engineering delivery phase.
Job Purpose / Overview
To deliver engineering for the installation of the MEH piping scope on site, leading a team of engineers from site delivery to handover for commissioning. To integrate the site scope within the wider E2E Piping Engineering team.
Contextual Information
Operating Environment
The Piping Construction Engineering team currently consists of 9 engineers, expanding with workload. The MEH End to End Engineering team has approximately 120 engineers, with the Piping Engineering team comprising about 40 engineers. Flexibility is required to work under schedule pressures to resolve technical issues promptly.
Frameworks and Boundaries
The Site Piping Engineer works alongside counterparts in other disciplines, with decision-making delegated within defined boundaries to ensure efficient resolution of issues.
Principal Responsibilities
* Support the Contract Engineering Lead for HK8010 installation contract, focusing on BNI and/or BoP piping construction activities.
* Draft technical specifications for erection activities.
* Update documentation such as LDRC and Surveillance Plan for BNI scope.
* Address technical queries and resolve open points.
* Coordinate responses to Exemption Requests and review erection deliverables.
* Review installation specifications from the Responsible Designer.
* Assist the Contract Engineering Lead in updating discipline documents and managing early warnings.
* Support project managers in preparing technical papers and establishing KPIs for construction progress reporting.
* Provide technical support to unblock construction activities and address contractor queries.
* Coordinate interface with Front Office teams on change requests and non-conformances.
* Ensure integration of post-construction activities into the construction sequence, supporting testing and commissioning preparations.
* Identify and implement process improvements, including redlining on site.

* Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Meticulous, rigorous engineering approach ensuring high standards.
* Ability to deliver engineering safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
* Strong leadership skills to coordinate team efforts and collaborate across the organization.
* Influence and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work independently with awareness of limitations.
* Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms.
Desirable
* Degree in a related engineering field.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
