About the role
As a Lecturer in Welding and Programme Lead, you will play a key role in delivering research inspired education within the School of Engineering at the University of Leicester. You will contribute to high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in areas related to material processing, design and manufacturing, ensuring an excellent and inclusive student experience across taught programmes. The role involves curriculum development, assessment, academic leadership in learning and teaching, and active engagement with students to support their academic progress and employability.

About you
You will have a strong academic or professional background in engineering, supported by a PhD or equivalent industrial experience, and a proven record of excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will demonstrate leadership in learning and teaching, a commitment to inclusive curriculum design, and the ability to deliver high quality education using a range of teaching methods. Evidence of sustained excellent student outcomes, engagement in scholarship related to teaching, and a commitment to the ongoing development of your teaching practice will be essential.
You will be an effective collaborator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to contribute positively to academic leadership, mentoring and wider University citizenship. You will be motivated to inspire students and colleagues while delivering education with real world impact.
