Recruitment and Retention Premium: The post attracts a premium of £20,000 payable over three years as follows:
* £10,000 on taking up post
* £5,000 at the commencement of year 2
* £5,000 at the commencement of year 3
Eligible for relocation expenses up to £8,000 in line with Trust policy. Applicants wishing to claim relocation support must declare this at interview.
Recruitment and Retention Premia and relocation expenses are non‑pensionable, subject to ongoing eligibility, and will be paid in accordance with Trust policies in place at the time of appointment. Main duties of the job
Opportunities exist for a proactive leader interested in innovation, service improvement, and partnership working with GPs and primary care. The Trust encourages medical staff participation in Medical Management and provides strong support from Clinical Directors.
As a training and teaching Trust, there are opportunities to teach postgraduate psychiatric and GP trainees, as well as undergraduates from Birmingham and Grenada Universities. Strong links with local universities such as Birmingham and Wolverhampton are welcomed.
The post holder will work full time to a 10‑PA job plan and will work both on inpatient wards and in the community, maintaining a continuity of care model.
Applications are invited for a full‑time Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry based at Bushey Fields Hospital Dudley.
The successful applicant will work with a team of consultants and allied professionals (CPNs, OTs, psychologists, social workers) delivering sectorised services to the north of the borough. Patients have access to local beds, links with community services, and the CRHT team ensuring proximity to home.

The General Adult Mental Health Service provides integrated inpatient and community care for adults with a wide range of mental health conditions across the four Black Country localities: Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton. Community provision is delivered through North and South Community Mental Health Teams within each locality, enabling clinicians to work across both community and inpatient settings, ensuring seamless patient journeys, improved outcomes and enhanced therapeutic relationships.
