Administrative Support Officer ASO Hours of Work: Full-Time Location:Across Northern Ireland Closing Date/Time:September 2nd 2025 3.00PM Reference Number:HRASO2425 Job Background: The role holder will be at the forefront of delivering essential administrative support services within policing. The Administrative Support Officer role requires flexibility and dedication as you will handle a diverse array of tasks tailored to the specific needs of your assigned department. From document management to scheduling and customer service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of administrative services, making the position both challenging and fulfilling. Hours of Work: Monday Friday 37 working hours per week. Salary:£26,449 - £28,094 plus £1365 environmental allowance. Main Activities: The main duties and responsibilities associated with the role may include the following: Maintaining relevant recording systems and databases, including searching and interrogating those systems to produce information to assist decision makers. Dealing professionally with telephone, written and electronic queries from internal and external customers, including the public. Referring complex telephone/written queries to an appropriate manager. Preparing paperwork for checking by a manager and carrying out initial checks in a timely and comprehensive manner. Proof reading and amending documents as required, ensuring accuracy. Taking notes/minutes of meetings, as required. Handling and communicating data in accordance with departmental policies and GDPR. Maintaining continued professional development through self-assessment and attending training courses, as agreed with your line manager. The main duties and responsibilities reflect the main elements of those associated with this position. It is not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive. Person Specification: Essential Skills and Experience Being able to demonstrate experience of having: Excellent communication skills with a diverse range of people. Problem solving and/or multi-tasking skills. Worked effectively in a team environment. Essential Other IT literate specifically in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Outlook). The successful candidates must have access to a form of transport which will enable them to fulfil the responsibilities of the job in full.
