Job Overview
Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorising content in the original “source” language, then reproducing the speech into the “target” language with 100% accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
* Check the non‑English speaker’s understanding after each sentence
* Provide conference, consecutive and public‑service interpreting
* Handle highly confidential information
* Liaise between the service user and service provider
Requirements
* Fluent in English and another language
* Right to work in the UK
* Aged 21 or older
* Formal qualifications such as:
o Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
o Community Interpreting
o NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered status is advantageous
o Degree in Translation / Interpreting / Languages
o Any other interpreting‑related qualification
