A Maintenance Technician is sought by a global automotive components manufacturer, based at their Burton-upon-Trent plant on three rotating shifts. The Role:Maintenance of the assembly equipment and facilities as and when requiredRespond to breakdowns on the assembly equipment on an urgent basisRecording and analysing data from equipment failuresLiaising with and working with outside contractorsPlanning and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance activitiesAssist operations in improving uptime on equipment using problem solving techniquesWorking on bespoke assembly fixtures and conveyor systems, utilising knowledge of pneumatics, electrics, PLC systems (Siemens) and roboticsFlexible and willing to work in any area/shift, and support opposite shift when required There is also scope for this role to be a Senior Maintenance Technician responsible for two Technicians on the shift pattern with a higher salary if you have supervisory experience. The successful Maintenance Technician will have the following:Experience in a similar maintenance role in the automotive sectorTime-served apprenticeship with relevant qualification Level 3 or HNC, or equivalentProficient with Siemens PLCs, fault finding and writing / structuring new programs18th Edition certification is beneficialAbility to identify and eliminate health, safety, ergonomic and environmental hazardsThe following skills and experience are preferred but not essential:Certified skills: Fanuc robot controllers, MEWPs / working at height and forklift truck licence.Experience of managing othersUse of CMMS for tracking and controlling at maintenance activitiesCapable IT skills with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, Excel Benefits package includes:Excellent salaryShift allowance 25% of base salary34 days holiday, rising to 38 days with service + bank holidaysPension schemeLife assuranceExcellent trainingFree onsite parkingThree rotating shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am38 hours per week
