Irish main contractor seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the entire logistics process, from material procurement to on-site deliveries. You will be working on a traditional build retirement villa project that has just broken ground. This is a permanent role, with a strong pipeline of upcoming work within London and surrounding counties.
Key Responsibilities
Efficiently allocate materials, equipment, and personnel to construction sites based on project requirements.
Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing and delivery schedules.
Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and reorder supplies as needed.
Ensure all plant (i.e. forklifts, hoists, generators) are being maintained, in service, and checks are being completed and recorded.
Oversee the transportation of materials and equipment to construction sites, optimizing routes and schedules.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all logistics operations.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce logistics expenses.
Supervise and motivate a team of logistics personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
Address logistics-related issues and develop innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as a Logistics Manager in the construction industry
Relevant training certificates (SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Traffic Management)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Knowledge of safety regulations
