First For Education are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to work in a welcoming and supportive school in Oldbury.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons within a well-equipped Design Technology department.
You must have QTS for this role.
The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Design Technology lessons, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills in students. The ideal candidate will be confident teaching a range of DT specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Graphics.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, particularly within workshop settings
Encourage student creativity, innovation, and independent thinking
Adhere to school policies, including health and safety regulations
Contribute to the wider school community where appropriate
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Design Technology at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT disciplines
Excellent classroom management skills
A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
