About the role: We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join a high-growth, private equity–backed Technology business. This role will sit between the CFO and the finance team, providing leadership, strategic oversight, and transaction readiness support as the company gears towards a potential exit.
You will oversee all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance while driving continuous improvement in processes and systems. This is a pivotal role for someone with a strong track record in private equity–backed software businesses who understands the pace, complexity, and demands of investor reporting and transaction preparation.
Responsibilities
* Lead all business reporting, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial information.
* Represent finance in senior leadership and Board-level discussions.
* Support the CFO in preparing and presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and Board members.
* Oversee company accounts, investments, cash flow management, and forecasting.
* Establish and maintain robust financial reporting systems to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation.
* Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and systems (including payroll, invoicing, and reporting tools).
* Develop and enforce strong accounting and reporting control frameworks across the finance function.
* Support transaction readiness, including investor reporting cycles, due diligence preparation, and managing change through the exit process.
Candidate profile / Qualifications
* Proven experience in both larger and smaller private equity–backed Technology, with strong knowledge of best practice.
* Deep understanding of private equity reporting and transaction processes (loan notes, investor cycles, exit readiness).
* Skilled in managing through constant change while maintaining control and accuracy.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to bridge between CFO and finance team.
* Track record of improving processes, systems, and reporting frameworks.
* Exceptional communication skills, comfortable leading conversations with Boards and investors.
