Apprentice Quantity Surveyor
Contract: Cheshire East Highways

The Apprentice Quantity Surveyor will provide technical and administrative support to the Commercial Team on the Cheshire East Highways Contract. Working closely with operational teams and subcontractors, the role offers hands-on experience and a strong introduction to the commercial functions of a highways contract. Over time, you will develop your skills and understanding in areas such as cost control, estimating, pricing, and the compilation of target costs.
The Role
•Following schemes closely during delivery, providing support and advice upon change management and assisting with ensuring that all formal Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events are raised, negotiated and agreed
•Commercial responsibility for allocated works completed under the Cheshire East Highways Contract as reasonably required.
•Timely and diligent contract administration
•Procurement of supply chain partners.
•Develop strong working relationships with both the design, operational delivery and Client commissioning teams, reporting on costs, assist in forecasting and managing budgets. Raising of subcontractor purchase orders
About You
•Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
•An interest in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying related to civil engineering and highways
•Ability to work as part of a Team
•Ability to use Microsoft applications – Word, Teams & Excel
•Commitment to work towards an appropriate qualification in Commercial Management and / or Quantity Surveying and work towards membership of a relevant professional institution
