Overview
Year 5 Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Middleton, Greater Manchester. Temporary (maternity cover) contract with an immediate start until December (subject to change). Salary: £160+ per day (PAYE), depending on experience. Full-time hours: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across all subjects to a Year 5 class with a high level of SEND.
* Demonstrate outstanding behaviour management to handle a challenging classroom environment effectively.
* Create an inclusive learning experience that caters to the diverse needs of all pupils.
* Plan, prepare and deliver the curriculum in line with school and national standards.
* Mark and assess students' work constructively, providing feedback that supports academic and personal development.
* Collaborate with support staff, SENCO, and other teachers to implement appropriate strategies for learning support.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
* Maintain a safe and stimulating environment that encourages pupils to enjoy learning and achieve their full potential.
* Keep up-to-date records of pupil progress and be accountable for attainment.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with UK-based teaching experience.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching, preferably with Year 5.
* Robust knowledge and experience handling a high level of SEND within a classroom setting.
* Proven record of strong behaviour management strategies.
* Ability to plan and mark across all subjects taught in Year 5.
* A current DBS registered with the Update Service.

Additional Information
This school is dedicated to the provision of a nurturing environment where every child can succeed. The appointment will be subject to stringent checks, including reference checks and a satisfactory DBS check. You will be required to provide an up-to-date DBS, or be prepared to allow processing on your behalf. Salary/pay rate will be dependent on skills and experience.
