Job Description
The role involves ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data to monitor performance, drive improvement, collect cash, and ensure governance across key client contracts.
Responsibilities
1. Manage month-end close activities, including calculations of accruals, unbilled, and unearned entries, ensuring compliance with deadlines, standards, and procedures.
2. Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L at Gross Margin level, covering reimbursable labour, costs, lump sums, procurement, and other items.
3. Provide variance analysis of actual results versus budgets/forecasts to support contract management.
4. Maintain balance sheet responsibilities for unbilled, unearned, receivables, and accruals, with a focus on accuracy and improvement actions.
5. Report and analyze Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), supporting initiatives for improvement.
6. Provide financial information for various reports, including Project Governance and HSE metrics.
7. Present monthly results to Contract Managers and Finance Business Partners.
8. Review invoices with the commercial team and guide on non-routine invoicing requirements.
9. Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets and forecasts for contracts, tracking variances and risks.
10. Monitor cash flow forecasts and escalate issues as needed.
11. Review labour and non-labour reconciliations, ensuring timely corrective actions.
12. Challenge aged unbilled reports and support rectification processes.
13. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and share best practices.
14. Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with company policies.
15. Perform ad hoc tasks as required by management.
Qualifications
* Recognized accounting qualification or part-qualified with active study towards professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, etc.) or qualified by experience.
Knowledge & Experience
* 3-5 years relevant accounting experience.
* Proficiency in Excel and ERP/forecasting systems.
* Good understanding of contract commercials and cost recovery.

* Strong interpersonal skills to liaise confidently with stakeholders.
