The role will support and assist our Marine Commercial team on a portfolio of opportunities across the UK and internationally. Wider NatPower Marine Team
The role will interact with various teams across NatPower Marine and will involve working closely with our Commercial Director with inputs into our Business Development, Special Projects Director, and Technical Director. The wider team is managing the development of marine shore power infrastructure projects and will be providing appropriate support and guidance.
The Role
We are looking for a UK-based multi-skilled entrepreneurial candidate, having broad experience in Commercial and Contract Management within the marine/ports sector. This is an important appointment within NatPower Marine, and the role will evolve supporting the UK Pipeline and eventually EU and US. You will be expected to have a positive impact in Commercial and Contract Management activities. Assisting and supporting the Leadership Team in securing market entry will be dominant in the beginning (e.g. 6-12 months), with the immediate focus on supporting negotiations on currently identified opportunities, with the role developing into the wider commercial activities.
We expect the successful candidate to have:
1. Broad understanding of the global marine/ports industry (UK, Europe, US, Asia) or evidence of understanding of an aligned sector.
2. Interest and passion for marine and/or renewable energy and decarbonization.
3. Demonstrable experience in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to commercial agreements applicable within the shipping & Logistics sector.
4. Effective communicator able to act as a focal point for all communication related to the commercial contract process, both internally and externally, ensuring clear and effective communication channels at all times.
5. Support with other business activities as appropriate.
6. Experience with using Microsoft suite of tools.
7. Managing data and undertaking commercial and business due diligence.
8. Knowledge of the main players and regulators with a broad understanding of their commercial and business strategies.
9. Broad understanding of current initiatives and strategic vision for the sustainability of the marine sector and energy transition in particular. This includes both transition to electrification (shore power and sustainably propelled ships) and general trends for decarbonization within the sector.
10. Sound understanding and application of commercial management theory in practice.
11. Coordinate and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders in the marine industry alongside the Directors.
Role Accountabilities
Be part of the Commercial team of NatPower Marine. Work proactively with other teams in the area of financing, engineering, environment, and IT. Willingness to present and participate in discussions with senior management both internally within NatPower Marine and externally with customers. Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks with appropriate guidance.
