We’re looking for a Development Manager to help unlock some of the most exciting housing and regeneration schemes in the region. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, working within a collaborative and mission-led public sector team. The focus is on making real impact: bringing forward the kinds of schemes the market wouldn’t back alone, and ensuring they’re robust, viable, and genuinely beneficial to communities. What you’ll be doing: Development appraisals Analyse applications for grant funding — residential-led, mixed-use, regeneration, and extra care schemes Review appraisals, check costs and GDV, sense-check assumptions, and write clear, evidence-based reports Commission external due diligence where needed Recommend whether schemes are fundable — balancing commercial insight with public good Stakeholder engagement Build trusted relationships with local authorities, developers, and other key stakeholders Help grow and shape a pipeline of impactful, shovel-ready schemes Represent the organisation externally and navigate complex political environments ✅ What you’ll need: Strong attention to detail and confidence with numbers Experience appraising development projects or assessing funding viability An understanding of land pricing, development finance, or construction principles Ability to work autonomously and write clear, well-argued reports Political awareness and a collaborative mindset Why join?
