About the role:
We are seeking a Financial Services Tax Disputes Senior Manager. Our Tax Disputes lawyers are integrated into PwC's tax business. This enables the team to offer clients a fully integrated tax disputes offering, covering all stages of the dispute from initial enquiry and investigation to final resolution either by agreement or through the courts. Litigation is not a separate stage in the resolution process - It is part of that process. Clients come to us as we can also offer the tax technical depth of knowledge and the ability to flex how we resolve disputes; including recourse to other settlement mechanisms such as ADR or Treaty resolution as well as our recognised expertise in tax litigation.
What your days will look like:
1. Day to day management of ongoing matters as part of a wider team, from liaising with HMRC and the Tribunal to helping manage the PwC and client relationships as well as building relationships with new clients.
2. Producing written advice for the client and drafting responses to correspondence.
3. Instructing Counsel, including preparing Instructions to Counsel and Notes of Conference/Consultation
4. Drafting key documentation such as Directions, Notices of Appeal, witness statements
5. Presenting case law and technical updates to the FS tax practice and at client events.
This role is for you if:
6. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. You have experience in Litigation.
8. You have previous experience with management of projects and case management.
9. You already have excellent technical skills.
10. You are able to demonstrate that you are able to work independently
11. You must possess a Legal Qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country.
What you'll receive from us:
No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.
We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
