This is a hands-on technical role with leadership responsibility, ideal for a SCADA engineer ready to step up and influence systems architecture and strategy. About the Role: You'll play a key role in the design, development, and integration of SCADA and control systems from concept to commissioning. Working alongside a team of control engineers and contractors, you’ll ensure solutions are scalable, standards are adhered to, and aligned with client and project goals. Key Responsibilities as Systems Engineer: * Lead SCADA system design, configuration, and integration across a range of platforms * Design and implement robust PLC/HMI solutions using Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, or OMRON hardware * Take technical ownership of project delivery, resource planning, and system standards * Collaborate with project managers and clients to scope requirements and plan delivery timelines * Oversee and maintain ISO 9001 processes, documentation, and internal compliance audits * Support technical estimation and tendering activities for automation and control systems * Drive process improvements, promote best practices, and mentor junior engineers * Ensure HSE compliance both in-office and on customer sites Ideal Profile: * Proven experience in control/automation with a focus on SCADA and HMI systems * Deep experience with SCADA platforms such as Aveva Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition, GE iFIX, FactoryTalk View, Iconics * Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Rockwell ControlLogix, Mitsubishi, etc.) * Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage project delivery * Familiarity with ISO quality management and systems engineering standards * Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent) * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel internationally Bonus Points For: * Industry background in hygienic process environments (brewing, dairy, pharma) * Experience standardising control solutions across multi-site or international projects * Strong analytical and documentation skills for compliance and reporting What’s in It for You as Systems Engineer: * Competitive salary package * Car allowance 25 days annual leave * Flexible hybrid working * Supportive environment with technical autonomy and progression opportunities If you're looking to move into a more senior role but still enjoy rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in, this opportunity offers the perfect blend of hands-on engineering and strategic influence
