Role Purpose

The Heat Treatment Operator is responsible for running and monitoring heat treatment processes to ensure parts are processed safely, efficiently, and in line with required standards and specifications. The role supports production by following approved procedures and maintaining quality, safety, and accuracy at all times.


Key Responsibilities

* Operate and programme heat treatment cycles on vacuum furnaces

* Monitor furnace cycles to ensure they remain within specified parameters

* Respond to alarms and correct issues to keep processes within specification

* Carry out system accuracy tests (SAT) when required

* Perform bake-out cycles, leak tests, and assist with thermal uniformity surveys

* Prepare and load components in line with approved loading standards

* Complete production paperwork and calculations to confirm customer specifications are met

* Monitor and control thermocouple usage, ensuring correct use and lifespan

* Carry out daily equipment checks and basic maintenance (TPM)

* Follow all process instructions (PTIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

* Ensure all work meets the latest quality, safety, and environmental standards

* Proactively report trends, issues, or potential problems to support continuous improvement

* Support quality and health & safety programmes

* Undertake additional reasonable duties as required


Performance Measures

* Productivity levels

* Scrap and rework levels

* Health, safety, and environmental performance

* Completion of required training and certifications (e.g. NADCAP)

Experience

* Experience working in a high-precision manufacturing environment

* Experience with heat treatment processes

* Experience working within NADCAP-accredited processes (preferred)

* Basic understanding of investment casting and heat treatment processes

* Ability to work with minimal supervision


Physical Requirements

* Good general level of fitness

* Ability to stand for long periods

* Good eyesight (with glasses or contact lenses if required)

* Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks where necessary

Additional Information

Contract : Temp to perm 12weeks

Working Hours : Am and PM shift

Hourly Rate : £17 per hour
