The role
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a springboard for ambitious, commercially-minded individuals. As a critical member of our B2B sales team, you’ll be the first point of contact for potential customers, acting as a Genio ambassador. You’ll leverage your positive attitude, communication skills, and deep understanding of customer needs to identify leads, establish conversations, qualify and nurture them, and help accelerate Genio’s growth.

* Account Executive Team
* Account Management team
* Sales Development Representative team (four SDRs) and one Senior SDR
Role is part of the North American Higher Education sales focus, led by our Sales Manager.
What you’ll be doing
* Prospecting: Find high-quality leads using cold calling, email outreach, and social selling to connect with ideal customers.
* Qualification: Understand potential customers’ needs and challenges; conduct discovery calls; ask questions aligned with MEDDPICC; gather market-trend information.
* Relationship Building: Build rapport with disability services professionals and become a trusted advisor, generating excitement about Genio.
* Pipeline: Progress qualified leads through the sales funnel, schedule demos with Account Executives, and ensure smooth handoff.
* Data: Use data and analytics to track progress, measure success, and refine your approach.
* Collaboration: Work closely with SDRs, Account Executives, and the Demand Marketing team to identify targets and develop prospecting sequences.
Your first 3 months
Week 1-2: Get acquainted with Genio, the market, and our systems and processes. Meet your SDR team and the wider sales and marketing teams.
Week 2-4: Begin making your first calls and emails to prospects, learn about the market, and book your first meeting.
Month 1-2: Build knowledge through call role plays, feedback sessions, and sales training. Start writing your own email sequences; gain CRM proficiency and aim to hit targets.
Month 2-3: Develop your skills further, prospect your own leads, and run your own email campaigns contributing to targets.
About you
Essential:
* Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written; strong listening; energetic phone presence.
* Self-motivated with a diligent work ethic and excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
* 1+ years of sales or customer service experience.
* A passion and drive to succeed in sales.
Bonus / Nice to have:
* Experience in SaaS/EdTech or similar B2B space
* Familiarity with Hubspot CRM
Salary and benefits
* Salary: ÂŁ25,000-ÂŁ28,000 dependent on experience (OTE up to ÂŁ33,000 with uncapped earning potential)

Location
Hybrid working is preferred; remote working within the UK may be supported if you live more than 50 miles from the Leeds office. We have a beautiful office space in Leeds.
