This role is located in NRM, within the Cawood Scientific Agriculture Division. Job Description:
Cawood is the UK’s leading independent scientific group, recognized for its technical capability and value-added service to customers. We provide laboratory analysis to the agriculture, food, and environmental sectors, as well as contract research to GLP standards to support the development of agrochemicals, biocides, and other chemicals.
Cawood currently has an exciting opportunity for Laboratory Technicians to join our TOC team on a full-time, fixed-term basis from July 2025 to May 2026.
Key Responsibilities include the following:
* To prepare and weigh samples within agreed timeframes while ensuring all HSE, quality, and turnaround time requirements are met.
* To communicate any discrepancies/queries in a professional manner.
* Sorting of samples and ensuring they correspond with the relevant paperwork.
* Using our LIMS to organise workload.
* Working as a team and maintaining morale and actively offering help and assistance wherever possible.
* Assisting analysts with daily maintenance of instrumentation.
* To assist receipt department with the unboxing and organising of samples.
* To grind samples to both 2mm and 0.5mm for analysis.
The above responsibilities do not cover all tasks that would be required.
The successful candidates should:
* Have enthusiasm, energy and be team focused.
* Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively within own team and other sections.
* Must take initiative and have the ability to conduct hands-on work.
* Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
