Job Title: Full-Time Sous Chef
Location: Poplar Nurseries, Marks Tey, Colchester
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Full-Time – 7:30am – 4:30pm. No split shifts.

The Role:
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent organisational skills, creativity, and a calm, can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in all kitchen operations
* Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
* Lead and motivate kitchen staff in the absence of the Head Chef
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
* Help with menu development and daily specials
* Manage stock control and minimise waste
* Maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organised kitchen
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
* A passion for fresh, seasonal food
* Food Hygiene Level 2 (Level 3 preferred)
* Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
