English Teacher – Secondary SEND
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our brand new school, River Valley, based in Sheffield.
As an English Teacher, your day will be varied, purposeful, and deeply rewarding. You will follow a flexible structure while delivering inspiring and accessible English lessons to Secondary-aged SEND learners. You will design bespoke, therapeutic educational frameworks that build confidence in reading, writing, communication, and creativity—tailored to each young person’s individual needs.
You will work within a Trauma Informed Practice model, supported by our therapeutic approaches. Our schools have proudly been awarded the Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School Award, recognising our commitment to safe, relational, and nurturing practice.

About River Valley School
River Valley School is a brand-new setting opening in Early 2026. We will support children and young people aged 6–18 through a therapeutic and bespoke learning package that seeks the best outcomes for each individual.
The school is located adjacent to, and works in partnership with, the innovative Skills Street Project, enhancing hands on and community based learning opportunities.

Requirements
•Strong written and IT skills
•Ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and external professionals
•Active listening skills
•NQTS or QTS registration (English specialism desirable)
•Valid Driving Licence – essential for this role
