We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a permanent full-time Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to join our small team of multi-skilled engineers. The successful candidate will enhance existing electrical engineering skills within the business, working to maintain safe and efficient plant and machinery and contributing to projects and continuous improvement. This is a full-time role on day shift and working hours will be based on working 5 days out of 6, Monday to Saturday (Saturday working is on a rota basis). The work pattern will be 6am - 3pm or 8am - 5pm, although given the nature of the industry the successful candidate will need to be flexible when required. Key responsibilities will include: Fault finding and resolution, preventative and reactive maintenance activities; Installation of new equipment and machinery; Sourcing parts at best value to meet business needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels; Working closely with key stakeholders to support the operational implementation of new products and progress projects and engineering solutions; Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, reviewing, developing and improving processes, plant and machinery to improve efficiency; Training and developing others in electrical work, new equipment, machinery and processes as necessary; Operating within Food Safety and Health and Safety standards in all aspects of the job role; Use of maintenance software packages, signing off day-to-day jobs and maintenance sign off Assisting in stock takes Any other duties as may be required to ensure the smooth running of the factory. Criteria The ideal candidate will: Hold a qualification in an electrical discipline e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or time served, with extensive relevant electrical engineering experience in industry, ideally in a high-volume food manufacturing plant; Have a minimum of 4 year''s relevant electrical engineering experience. Ideally experienced in FMCG or other fast paced manufacturing environment. Be able to read electrical drawings, diagnose and resolve electrical problems and have a good working knowledge of PLC and industrial controls, drives, sensors, switches, robotics and automation; Have computer skills; Be pro-active and take a practical approach to problem solving and decision making.
