We are currently recruiting for Butchers to come and join our Prep team, here at Yorkshire Baker. The purpose of this role is to effectively manage a Butchery line and any staff in your charge, ensuring that the targets defined by the Butchery Manager are continually achieved.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
1. Responsible for supervising all aspects of a Butchery Line from delivering a best quality product to ensuring product yields are met at all times.
2. To ensure planned outputs are achieved precisely, economically and to the predetermined quality standards.
3. Ensure that lost production time is kept to a minimum.
4. Ensure an exceptional level of internal/external customer service through on time deliveries and minimal customer returns.
5. Liaise with the Butchery Manager to identify the correct levels of staff required to fulfil customer demands ensuring that labour costs are kept to a minimum where possible.
6. Effectively harness, motivate and develop their team in order to reduce staff turnover and encourage maximum productivity.
7. Involvement in the risk assessment process, to reduce the risk to H&S in the Butchery Department.
8. Ensuring that all information relevant to “preventative and protective measures” is passed to the direct reports on the line.
9. Liaise with the H&S Department to establish controls for H&S to include: -Daily Start Up checks
10. Accident & Near Miss Investigations
11. Monitoring of corrective actions
12. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that planned preventative maintenance is carried out.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience of working as a butcher in food production is essential
* Ability to manage and direct a team where necessary
* Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Motivated and reliable
