Are you a technically curious problem-solver who wants their work to make a real difference to patient care?Join Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) as a Systems Administrator and Configuration Technician within our CITS team, and play a vital role in supporting our colleagues at both RCHT and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) by keeping their clinical systems reliable, secure, and fit for the future.

In this hands-on role, you'll support and maintain a variety of clinical and corporate IT systems that are critical to the day-to-day running of CFT's hospitals and services. From system improvements to troubleshooting incidents and supporting upgrades, your work will directly enable clinicians and staff to deliver safe, effective care.

You'll work closely with clinical teams, digital specialists, and external suppliers to ensure that systems are configured accurately, perform optimally, and comply with NHS standards regarding information governance and cybersecurity.

Main duties of the job

Work within the Clinical IT Services (CITS) - CFT Digital Services department to support, configure, and maintain multiple Trust systems in line with Change Management processes, contractual requirements, and national standards, including system upgrades, new releases, and configuration changes. Produce detailed solution plans outlining implementation steps and associated risks.

Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of enhancements, upgrades, and configuration changes to ensure systems remain safe, reliable, and fit for clinical use.

Support meetings and user groups as requested, contributing to the identification, validation, and quality assurance of system development and update requirements.Contribute to the development and maintenance of support procedures, documentation, user guides, and FAQs to enable consistent and effective system support.

Attend Trust and Digital Services meetings as required, representing the team where appropriate.

Work flexibly, including outside standard hours when required, to support the operational needs of Trust clinical systems.
