We’re looking for a proactive and detail driven Financial Accountant to take full ownership of our financial control environment - ensuring accuracy, insight, and continuous improvement across our reporting processes. You’ll lead by example, directly managing and developing two graduate accountants, supporting both their day-to-day work and their professional study progression, while driving best practice across the team. 1. Prepare weekly and periodic management accounts for senior management and Board review
2. Provide clear, data-backed insights and recommendations to influence forecasts and decision-making
3. Write engaging, relevant commentary to accompany financial reports
4. Line manage and mentor one first-year and one second-year graduate, supporting both role development and study progression
5. Maintain strong balance sheet control through monthly reconciliation of all accounts
6. Identify and implement improvements to transaction processes, controls, and manual workflows
7. Partner with stakeholders to ensure management accounts meet evolving reporting needs
8. Support the year-end audit process, resolving queries and providing accurate supporting documentation
9. Develop a deep understanding of all accounts transactions from data input to reporting

10. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (Post-qualified experience is an advantage)
11. Proven experience in leading and developing team members
12. Strong track record in delivering under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
13. Industry experience in a similar-sized organisation
14. Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
15. Knowledge of Open Accounts software and eBIS
