The Role As a Reception Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will create a positive, stimulating, and safe environment where children feel valued and supported. Observation and assessment will be central to your practice, ensuring every child receives the guidance and support they need to thrive. You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to ensure consistency across the Early Years phase. Communication with parents and carers is an important aspect of the role, fostering strong home-school partnerships. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality EYFS lessons Create a nurturing, engaging, and safe classroom environment Observe and record children’s progress, informing next steps Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development Deliver activities that encourage communication, language, and literacy Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, training, and CPD Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching in EYFS/Reception Demonstrate strong knowledge of the EYFS framework Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills Be reflective, adaptable, and proactive Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion Early Career Teachers are welcome and will receive mentoring and guidance.
