Role

Christ Church invites applications for an experienced Digital Communications Officer to be responsible for the day-to-day delivery across the full range of digital channels: website, social media, video, internal newsletter and more. We are looking for someone with strong writing and editing skills who is confident in graphic design, competent in the use of our website and digital tools along with a good understanding of effective videography.

Responsibilities

* Identify and develop stories across Christ Church by actively seeking out opportunities and building relationships across the college.

* Pitch stories and content opportunities proactively, using sound judgment to deliver content that genuinely engages diverse audiences.

* Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to plan and deliver timely and accurate communications.

* Experience with website management and digital tools; ability to pitch and frame messages for different audiences (academic staff and researchers, current students and staff, alumni and donors, and the broader public and media).
* Ability to work with independence, set priorities, manage workload, and make sound editorial judgments; able to work well in a small team with support from the Head of Communications.

Work arrangements

The role is primarily based on site at Christ Church. Informal hybrid working arrangements are possible, agreed with the Head of Communications and responsive to the demands of the role week by week. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support coverage of events, by prior agreement.
