Overview

We are seeking a Principal/Senior HV Plant Engineer to work on electrical substation design projects within our Energy Team. Projects may include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connections schemes, and more. You will collaborate with other disciplines and support/lead FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects. Ideally you will have experience with key T&D clients in the UK.

About You
You will ideally have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer. You should have experience in design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems and associated components. Understanding of protection & control (P&C) aspects is preferable.
You will be proactive with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You should be able to coach and work within the wider energy team, engage with the engineering community, and promote innovative solutions and best practices. You will contribute to the team through sharing knowledge and collaborating effectively.
We are also looking for individuals from various technical backgrounds who may not meet the above criteria. Stantec will develop, provide support and training to the right people. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field is required, and a willingness to learn is essential.
