Reference 151621 Housing Operations Manager (Specialist Housing and Voids) Birmingham £53000.00 - £55000.00 per annum plus £3500 car allowance 37.5 hours per week Closing date 27th March 2026 About the role To be an effective member of the Senior Leadership Group, making a significant and effective contribution to Trident Group, ensuring that it is well positioned to achieve its vision, current and future business and operational plans and performance targets. This is a leadership role, within our Communities and Housing directorate and operating across and the wider organisation, shaping and driving excellent Voids, Allocation and Lettings Services and delivering effective Housing Management Services to our specialist accommodation services, championing best practice, innovation, and the value of meaningful customer feedback input driving service improvements. To develop and lead the delivery of the Group’s strategies that underpin our Housing and Specialist Accommodation services ensuring that we achieve outstanding standards of service, reduce void turnaround times, prevent tenancy turnover, maximise income and make a lasting difference to our customers and communities. What you’ll be doing Ensure that a strategic approach to delivery is taken to the leadership of areas of responsibility including strong, effective collaborative working with our Income, General Needs Housing Management, Assets and Customer Engagement Teams. Work closely with leadership colleagues to provide appropriate delivery strategies, initiatives and proposals ensuring that we are well positioned to meet current and future customer requirements. Be aware of, anticipate and meet regulatory requirements and changes relevant to the services Report regularly to the relevant committee and other customer groups ensuring they are fully briefed on our performance and achievements across all relevant services Be a positive, senior professional and effective role model for all direct reports, and across the Group, taking accountability for recruiting, inspiring, motivating, retaining, coaching and supporting team members. Planning, setting, monitoring and effectively managing relevant budgets for the team. Any other duties outlined in the role profile. Who we’re looking for? Qualifications CIH Level 4 or above, or equivalent Qualifications and/or training that demonstrate the appropriate calibre for a senior management post and is able to keep abreast of the challenges of the professional areas managed. Experience A strong track record in managing teams providing excellent housing services, with a focus on reducing our voids, maintaining a strong allocations and lettings function, as well as leading our Intensive Housing Management Service. Experience of developing and delivering relevant strategies. Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams, including colleagues that work off-site. Experience of working closely with the colleagues to deliver high quality services. Knowledge & Skills Up to date professional knowledge about the provision of social Housing, including Specialist Housing Services, together with relevant legislation. Extensive experience of developing and maintaining relationships with a broad range of people, at all levels, from Board members to front line staff and customers. Communicate powerfully and in a compelling way that inspires and motivates internal and external audiences. Good understanding of people management, have had a range of relevant training and be able to demonstrate outstanding people management skills. Leadership Experience of successfully managing change to enable the team to achieve and demonstrate continuous improvement and to respond to the continuous challenges. Ability to be an effective role model for Trident Group at the senior management level and to be able to develop productive working relationships. Who we are?
