Vacancy Lab Compute Analyst Location Kent Hours Full-time
Role Overview:
This is a hybrid role, with requirements to be on-site in Sittingbourne, Kent with occasional travel to Cambridge.
The Zifo Lab Computing Analyst provides technical laboratory services, including multivendor instrument, information technology and validation/compliance services when applicable. The individual will provide the consulting skills required to analyze customer needs and gaps to propose solutions for the desired state. He or she will work with business users and managers of customers in conjunction with the internal Zifo support team.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides technical support of customer laboratory environments, typically for computers that are integrated with instrumentation
2. Manages lab computing aspects of installing new, retirement and relocation of equipment
3. Implements Windows based security
4. Ensures adherence to client’s corporate policies through periodic reporting and compliance programs
5. Acts as the technical support contact for field service engineers and external vendors
6. Provides technical subject matter expertise for new system validation and change management efforts
7. Document procedures, policies, troubleshooting and best practices
8. Create and maintain a physical inventory of lab equipment, PC’s, software, and any other information pertinent to the environment if applicable
9. Perform system preventative maintenances based on client’s schedule, if applicable
Required Skills:
10. Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests
11. Ability to troubleshoot complex instrument and technology issues
12. Strong oral and written communication skills
13. Ability to identify, track and complete tasks for multiple projects
14. Knowledge of laboratory safety practices as defined by the company and/or customer’s site safety code

18. Experienced in ticketing systems
19. Good understanding of pharmaceutical research and drug Discovery & development processes and biologics workflows (preferred, not required)
Required Education/Experience:
20. Preferred to hold a Bachelor of Science in computer science, life science or equivalent industry experience
21. 2+ years of relevant technical experience including (but not limited to); Windows technologies, networking, remote computing and backup systems
22. Experience with virtual machine support (preferred)
23. Experience with scientific instrumentation (preferred)
24. Experience with Ignition automation software a plus but not mandatory, training will be provided
