Role Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take the lead on cost management across a range of complex and high-value construction projects. You’ll oversee all commercial aspects from pre‑construction through to final account, ensuring financial efficiency, risk mitigation, and contractual compliance. Working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors, you’ll be a key driver of commercial success and strategic decision‑making.
Responsibilities
 * Managing the full commercial lifecycle of projects, including procurement, valuations, and final accounts.
 * Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and tender documents.
 * Leading contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
 * Monitoring project performance and reporting on financial progress.
 * Identifying and managing risks, variations, and opportunities for value engineering.
 * Mentoring junior surveyors and supporting team development.
 * Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
 * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at senior level, within the construction industry.
 * Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
 * Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
 * Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
 * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
 * Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
