Project Manager Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of their assigned projects and must be competent in managing the six aspects of a project: scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality, and resources.
They should be able to manage the project effectively utilizing the 8-phase gated process to ensure the predefined project objectives are delivered within budget and on time.
Requirements of the Role
* Meeting with relevant members of the leadership team and customers to identify project requirements, delivery timelines, and costs.
* Developing detailed project plans, identifying key milestones in accordance with the gated process to guide customers, staff members, and project teams. Ensuring timely communication of any revisions based on changing needs and requirements.
* Creating effective communication strategies and quality plans suitable for the size and complexity of the project.
* Managing the project through the gated process from concept to manufacturing and leading phase gate exit review meetings with the leadership team.
* Working with relevant department managers to secure required resource commitments aligned with project deliverables.
* Identifying and assigning project tasks based on resource availability, skill sets, experience, and team members' strengths.
* Monitoring project performance indicators, identifying and recording risks, mitigating where possible, and communicating potential impacts.
* Chairing regular project team meetings, capturing key information/activities, and reporting outcomes.
* Compiling and submitting project status reports to customers, management, and other stakeholders.
* Demonstrating excellent leadership, customer relations, and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.

Competency
* Understanding of project management philosophies and their applications across various project types.
* Experience in using gated processes and managing stage reviews.
* Ability to prioritize activities based on business needs.
* Structured and methodical working approach.
* Clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Ability to coach team members at all levels to develop understanding and ownership of project requirements.
* Promotion of teamwork, sharing best practices, and championing expertise across departments.
Core Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a project manager in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
* HNC/Degree in relevant discipline or Project Management Qualification.
* Proficiency in data analysis, report generation, and use of Project Management Software.
* Excellent communication skills for interactions at all business levels.
* Leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate teams.
* Experience within the Rail or Defence markets.
* Experience in the connector or cable assembly industry.
* Previous experience with Daptiv software.
