About the role
The Warehouse Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities during an assigned shift, ensuring efficient operations, health & safety compliance, and team productivity. This role supervises warehouse staff, manages performance, and ensures that, picking and delivery, processes meet company standards.
Main Responsibilities
8. Open or close the building at the beginning or end of shift
9. Manage and coordinate warehouse staff during assigned shifts
10. Ensure efficient picking, stacking, lines and loading of products
11. Monitor daily operations to meet productivity and performance targets
12. Enforce health, safe and legal regulations and company policies
13. Manage shift schedules, attendance, and staff performance
14. Train, coach, and develop team members
15. Resolve operational issues and escalate where necessary
16. Coordinate with other departments such as Telesales, Sale Accounts, and Buying Team
17. Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment
18. Route planning and load plans considering any vehicles off road
You will need
Key Skills & Requirements
19. Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics (typically 2+ years)
20. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
21. Strong leadership and people management skills
22. Good understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS)
23. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
24. Strong organisational and time management skills
25. Knowledge of health and safety regulations
26. Ability to work flexible shifts (including early/late & Saturdays if required)
