Job Title – Assistant Finance Manager
Location – The Dash Group, Redruth, TR15 3RQ
Reports to – Finance Manager
Pay – £35,000 to £42,000
Hours – Full-time. Monday to Friday. 8.30am to 5.00pm
The Dash Group is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. As our new Assistant Finance Manager, you will be part of a supportive and forward-thinking finance team playing an instrumental role during a time of significant growth across the business.
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with senior management on the delivery of high-quality financial information, shaping business decisions and driving commercial success across several diverse trading operations. With direct responsibility for managing the finance team, you will also work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the whole department runs smoothly day-to-day and covering them in times of their absence.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage the finance team to ensure everyone is working efficiently by allocating tasks and providing subject matter expertise as required.
* Nurture a positive culture within the department supporting your team with regular 1:1s and ongoing support and advice.
* Work closely with the Finance Manager to produce timely and accurate financial and KPI reports.
* Weekly invoicing procedures, including various software interactions.
* Accurately process sales and purchase ledger entries.
* Support purchase order processing and internal approvals.
* Perform supplier payment runs.
* Carry out bank, credit card and statement reconciliations.
* Set up new customers and suppliers.
* Produce balance sheet reconciliations and month end controls.
* Conduct credit control and direct debit collection administration tasks.
* VAT submissions.
* Assist with the transition to a new accounting platform and with the implementation of new processes.
* Carry out other finance related tasks according to the needs of the business.
What We’re Looking For
ACA/ACCA/CIMA accreditation.
Some experience managing or supervising people in a finance environment.
Commercial awareness with an analytical eye for business performance.
Sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control experience.
Excellent IT skills, especially Excel and reporting systems.
The organisational skills to multitask in order to consistently meet deadlines.
